This Month’s Spiritualitygirl.com Newsletter:

Some say the glass is half empty, some say the glass is half full, I say, are you going to drink that? - Lisa Claymen

Doesn’t this quote reminds us that instead of debating on what it is, it’s time to just do something with it or share with someone?

How often do you have those experiences? – do you ask yourself “Should I do this?” “What will happen if I do that?” In the meantime, nothing happens and nothing is moving!

This is what was happening with my first newsletter. What should I include – how should it look? I forget, of course, it’s a work in progress. It’s not written in stone (even though it’s on the computer) so it can change and grow as we go along.

In your life, how often do you see yourself getting caught up in what something or someone is instead of how it can make change or share your world? It’s simple but how often do we get stuck?

Please enjoy the first edition of Spiritualitygirl.com’s newsletter. I’d love to hear your feedback and more than welcome your participation.

So is the glass half full or half empty? Does it matter?

Take a sip of water – quench your Spirit’s thirst.

Have a beautiful month,
Mary

Spiritual Question for the Month:
Ask your Spirit - How are you determined to see things, places and people differently?

New Beginnings

New Beginnings are a positive thing, right? Sure, unless you're like many of us and experience terror when things change. So how can we turn around terror to triumph?

When I decided to start this website and put out this newsletter, I have to admit it was terrifying.  As much as I thought, "Wow, it will be great to get out there, meet and help new people and learn lots of stuff", I thought something like this twice as much, "Oh, no, what if no one signs up for the newsletter?  What if I never do another reading?  What if, what if, what if..."

Whoa, put the breaks on!  Where is my mind going?  How many times have you either started something new or been forced to start something new and terror has filled your heart, you stomach gets sick and you're ready to lie down with a cold compress?

All right, maybe not as much as me but you get the idea.

I procrastinated writing this newsletter because I was afraid of how it would go.  I put it off until I realized that if I didn't make this new beginning, I would never know how it would go.  It would bother me more to never know if I could accomplish sharing ideas and teachings with others through my writing and teaching.

If you look at your life, what are you procrastinating?

The mind is an incredibly powerful organ.  Many times, Spirit presents us with something new so we can expand what our Soul's lessons are.  We would never grow as a soul unless we change, unless we experience those moments of the unknowing, the canvas that isn't painted in front of us.  If we lived safe all the time, life would be pretty boring.  You would never meet anyone who was different, travel anywhere new, put yourself out there to excel at something new.

Let's be honest - life would be pretty boring.

But, you say to me, Life would be safe!  It would be status quo, I would know what was happening all the time and I'd have a routine!
Yeah, that works!

Maybe - yes, it can "work" for a while.  You know how life happens, though, and as much as you don't want change, it's going to happen.

Hence, we're back to new beginnings.  Here are some tips to deal with those times that you have to (and even want to) make change:

1.) Do whatever you need to do to deal with your fear and anticipation.  You want this new beginning to be successful.  First, sit down and write out all the problems with your new beginning.  How it would fail, what would happen if it did?

Now sit down and write out the grandest outcome for your new beginning.  How would that look?  What would that feel like?  What resources do you have at your fingertips?  How would being successful change you?

Then, take the piece you wrote on failure and GET RID OF IT.  Because you are not destined to fail - you are destined to win.

2.) Surround yourself with people who will support you.  If it's not your family, find a supportive group, even if it's online.  Sure, you can do much of your new beginning alone but isn't it more fun with friends?  Make time to correspond with them, see them and support them.  Most of all, let them know how much you appreciate their support.

3.) Be supportive of yourself if you find things not going quite the way you want or moving at the right pace for you.  It's okay to feel scared - that's part of your feelings.  Know that you have all the tools, resources, smarts and drive to make things happen for yourself.  It's takes one step at a time, though, so be careful not to jump 8 steps ahead - you may hurt yourself!

4.) Congratulate yourself for all the steps you HAVE made.  You may be surprised how far you've come!  Give yourself a gift at different points that are important milestones, even if it's just patting yourself on the back or sending yourself a card.

Whatever you do, know that you'll look back on this new beginning as one of the best things that have ever happened to you and you are amazing for having the courage to go through it.  Now that's worth taking a risk!

Now my step into the unknown - Let me know how you like my newsletter and website.  I'd love to hear from you.

Spiritual Silent Treatment
How the "Silent Treatment" is a good thing....

Have you ever had days where you feel "off" and can't connect with Spirit?  Do you feel like no one is listening?  Find out why Spirit gets quiet...

So, it's like you can't get a dial tone while trying to contact Spirit.  Has Spirit changed its phone number and left no forwarding number?  How frustrated do you feel when you contact Spirit and you hear, feel or see *nothing*.  What is the answer?  Why isn't Spirit guiding you?

"Hello - is anyone out there?"  ::echo::

Absolutely!  Spirit is always around you and with you.  When Spirit gets quiet, there may be an explanation such as:

First, Spirit may just be asking you to listen to your own voice.  As many books have said, the answers are all within us.  While Spiritual Guidance is amazing, maybe it's time to quiet ourselves for the answers.  However you can get quiet, maybe it's meditating or walking or even writing, find time to ask your own inner voice what the answer is to your quandary.  Spirit knows you have great judgment and it is okay for you to step out there on your own.  The answers will not only surprise you but they will be amazing!

Secondly, Spirit may be telling you that there is no answer at this time.  The situation may need to have some time to simmer or settle before any guidance is offered.  As frustrating as that may be, the Spiritual world has no comprehension of time.  The situation will eventually have a resolution, just maybe not as soon as you would like.  Spirit may be telling you that a move at this time may not be the best thing.  Could you emotions be getting the better of you?  Silence can bring peace of mind and clearer ideas.

Third, Spirit could be asking you to communicate in a different way.  Spirit may be challenging you to look at other ways to contact them.  It's not to hurt you but it's to help you grow.  Explore ways to communicate differently - try something that may not be your usual or comfortable way of communicating with Spirit.  If you do automatic writing and nothing comes, close your eyes and ask for a visual.  If you're used to working by yourself, ask someone else to work with you.  Group energy is amazing in communicating with Spirit.  Try something different - get another Spirit Communication tool in your tool box!

Spirit wants you to always remember that they are with you.  Just because they aren't giving you all the answers you need does mean they are not supporting you.  Silence doesn't mean they are not with you - they just are asking you to look at the situation and yourself differently.  Soon, you'll see that you have grown from the "silent treatment".
